Went to Magnolia Pictures’ premiere of Compliance last night. One of the most uncomfortable films ever, but fascinating. A few folks walked out, but for those who stayed, the (too) short panel discussion and audience comments/questions were worthwhile.
Some people were quick to label the characters as unintelligent and naive. Have to ask though, how many of us can think of a time when we went along with something we didn’t think was right because we felt pressure from peers, a boss, a parent, etc.?
Probably most.
Film opens in theaters on August 17th.
